Great visitor center! Really helpful and friendly staff. Lots of park maps and advice on where to go and what to see. Amazing exhibits and artifacts explaining the histry of the site, its people, and the unfortunate railroad destruction from 11,000bce to present. Nice small gift shop and restrooms as well.

Wonderful visitors center, the park ranger was very knowledgeable and helpful during our visit. The mounds are a great learning experience and the biggest one allows you to see Downtown Macon if you go to the top of it!

Far more interesting than I had expected. This was an impromptu stop along the way to Savannah and I wish I'd had more time to explore. There are excellent and detailed displays in the main building and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. If you are a history buff, I highly suggest planning on a long a stop here.

Very interesting. The museum is small but loaded with information. If you're in the area check it out

A lovely building. The ranger explained that it's building began in the 1930s and was completed in the 1950s. At the time, its style was not appreciated by the public, as rustic wooden buildings were favored. However, today, its architecture is admired. It was the first of it's kind to include the visitors center and museum in one place. The museum is really worth spending the time to see. There is a theater, and it appears to have space for educational programs. A must-see. The ranger did a great job answering questions of all who came. It also includes a nice gift shop.

Had an awesome time at the Mounds today. It was really humid but other than that, it was quiet. The only thing you could hear was the birds. Awesome experience. The staff inside were friendly. This whole place definitely needs a makeover, but I will be coming back here again.

20231211 This visitor center has a nice museum documenting the history covering the way of life. It has a theater that shows a movie, and a gift shop. The lady working here is very nice.

I love hiking here with my Aussie and my son . I have been coming here with family for about 30 years now. Love the nature trails. Great therapy. Will be so happy when they reopen the river trail. You can walk all the way to downtown Macon for lunch.
